Request maintenance to existing City signs including street name signs

Urgent requests

  • If a sign/post has fallen and is in a hazardous location, please report it by contacting the City on 1300 4 CANNING (1300 422 664). You can call this number 24 hours a day for urgent/high priority assistance.
  • This will allow an officer to respond with the highest priority.

City responsibility

The City is responsible for the maintenance of:
  • bus signs (see example image on the right)
  • parking restrictions - including within school zones
  • all street name signs bearing the name of the street (see example image on the right)
  • no through road signs
  • scheme amendment signs
  • directional signs 
  • other signs - this includes signs within parks
  • chevrons on roundabouts (see below).

Main Roads responsibility

The Main Roads Department (13 81 38) are responsible for the following signs:
  • Give Way
  • Stop
  • signs on a square yellow pole
  • roundabout (advanced warning signs on yellow poles)
  • signs on Roe/Leach/Albany/South/Orrong
  • School Zone.

Transperth responsibility

Transperth (13 62 13) are responsible for their bus signs.

  • An officer will action within three (3) business days.
  • Supply and install can take up to fifteen (15) working days to complete.
